Please take your time to fill in the details below. We take your child's safety seriously so please provide accurate information. If you decide to become a member, your details below will also be used to register for your child's martial arts licence and insurance with MAGB.
1. KA Martial Arts instructors will teach your child / children martial arts which may cover many styles. Techniques taught are for the purpose of self defence.
2. KA Martial Arts instructors will teach your child / children self defence, awareness and confrontation management. Self defence techniques include (but not limited to); Boxing, Thai boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Modifications will always be shown for students who are injured, disabled, or want to take it easier.
3. During your son or daughters time at KA Martial Arts they will take part in controlled sparring. Martial arts is a contact sport, please be aware of this. As with all contact sport injuries can take place but these risks are minimised by following the correct health & safety guidelines.
4. If at any stage KA Martial Arts feel that you child is being constantly disruptive, problematic or endangering the safety of the instructors and / or other participants we may ask you to take your child out of the club, in the rare event of this happening, no refund will be given.
5. Some techniques will require physical contact between student & student. Techniques are taught instructor on instructor, or verbally.
6. All participants are required to wear clean, comfortable training wear including trainers. Once your son or daughter has their uniform they are required to wear it for every class.
7. Some activities such as sparring, require the student to be bare foot.
8. Students are not required to participate in sparring but they are encouraged to do so for their own confidence and self improvement. Students will also not be able to grade past yellow belt without sparring.
9. The correct training protection must be worn during sparring (gloves, gum shield, shin guards), gloves must also be worn for pad work. Equipment must be either purchased from KA Martial Arts or must be of a safe, suitable standard.Please check with us if you already intend to use your own equipment or intend to purchase equipment elsewhere.
10. Neither KA Martial Arts or their instructors will be held responsible for any injury or unforeseen circumstances occurring through misuse of the clubs facilities or misuse of the instructors advice.
11. Pictures or video is sometimes taken in class which may be used on our website, social media or promotional material.Please inform us if you prefer for your son or daughter not to be included.
12. KA Martial Arts in not responsible for your parking fees.
13. There are no refunds for class fee, or direct debits.
14. Direct debits are cheaper than pay as you go classes. Please keep in mind that KA Martial Arts does not run during the Christmas period and a couple of weeks in the summer. Direct debits cannot be cancelled or put on hold during these times. If you are going to miss classes for a month or more, you may pause your direct debit, however there is a £20 admin fee.
15. There is a 14 days cancellation policy.
16. Parents can watch the first class. After this, unless there is a specific reason, agreed with KA Martial Arts, you are advised to drop your child off to training and pick them up afterwards. Seating is available outside of the studio in both venues.
