JAN 11th 2010 - CLASS REMAINS OPEN DURING SNOW

We are a martial arts and life skills class based in Birmingham, aimed at 5 to 12 year olds.

There are a few things that set us apart from other martial arts classes who teach this age group.More advanced students may have the chance to compete with their skills, but the key to our classes is that emphasis is placed on achieving their personal best and not on being "better" than others.

There are 6 classes per month, two ‘life skills’ class and four ‘training’ classes.

In a report by the Institute for Public Policy Research failure
to teach key skills such as
communication is widening the gap between rich and poor, mentally,
physically, socially and emotionally. The research also says that they strongly recommend these life skills be leant at after-class arts and sports clubs.

National media are also drawing attention to the growing number of obese children in the UK, along with other issues which seem to be of growing concern, such as bullying, diabetes, child abuse and sleep disorders.

We aim to combat these issues using our combination of life skills and physical exercise, which are safe and fun. Physical training
consists not only of learning a
practical self defence method but
‘play’ and ‘games’ are used which promotes participation and develops a love for learning. Other ‘skills’
